ACRA Nominating Committee Recommendation for Election to ACRA Board

ACRA Nominating Committee recommends the following persons for election to ACRA Board:

Vice President

Valarie Flora

I have been a stenographer for 30 years, having first been certified in Texas where I worked there
as a freelance reporter. I served as an officer of the Tarrant County Court Reporters Association,
resigning from the seat of president in 1994 when I married & moved to California. I have been
licensed in Arkansas since 1996 working freelance for Bushman Court Reporting until 2009
when I accepted the position of official reporter for the 4th Division of Saline County working
with Judge Robert Herzfeld where I hope to remain until I retire. I am a member of the National
Court Reporters Association, Texas Court Reporters Association and Arkansas Court Reporters
Association. I have been married 24 years to Daniel Flora, have three children: a 21-year-old
Junior at Hendrix College, a senior at Benton High School who was accepted into and will be
attending the Schedler’s Honor College at UCA, and a 13-year-old at Benton Junior High.
I love this profession. Being a court reporter has allowed me to be a mother and wife while also
earning a great income and that is one reason why I want to promote and recruit more people into
our profession.

Secretary

Jannie Condley

My name is Jannie Condley. I am an official reporter in the 2nd Judicial District for the
Honorable Cindy Thyer. I have held this position since October 2017. Prior to that date, I was a freelance reporter covering depositions and covering the state of Arkansas subbing for official reporters. I am a graduate of Atkins High School and Arkansas Tech University with a degree in public relations. Prior to becoming a court reporter, I was the executive director of the River Valley Shelter, which is a non-profit domestic violence shelter in Russellville. My duties there included, but were not limited to, supervision of all staff, clients and volunteers, financial management, fundraising, community education and grant writing. During my employment, I served on the local board of directors for the River Valley United Way and the River Valley Prevention Coalition. I also served on the state board of the Arkansas Balance of State and the Arkansas Coalition Against Domestic Violence where I served as secretary and on the executive committee. While serving on this board, I was involved in the writing and implementation of policy and best practices, financial management and shelter standards. I am married to Dennis and we have two children, Whitney and her husband Jeremy of Russellville and Greg and Jessica Condley of Dover. We are also the proud grandparents of Aiden Condley.

I grew up in Northeast Arkansas graduating from Jonesboro High School and Arkansas State University. I’m single and currently live in Jonesboro and I have two children: Chris, 28; Lindi, 22. My son lives in Kansas City, Missouri. My daughter graduates in May from Arkansas State University. I have a Labradoodle named Lucy that keeps me company when I’m working at home. In my spare time, I like to read, hike, walk my dog, paint, shop, travel, eat good food and visit with family and friends. I’m a freelance voice-writer and became a court reporter in 2010. It was one of the best decisions of my life and I love my job!
