I have been married to my husband Bryan for 32 years in September and have been reporting for 32 years in November. I am certified in Illinois, Arkansas and Missouri with RPR and CRR from NCRA. I have freelanced and worked in court in all three states and have also reported election commission hearings, IRS hearings and church services. I have also transcribed interviews with Korean War veterans. Served as president of ACRA in 2008. Served on the Arkansas Board of Certified Court Reporter Examiners in 2011. Currently, I enjoy working from home as a closed captioner for VITAC and do occasional depositions when they fit into my schedule.
We have three cats, Myrtle Mayhem, Jazzy and Teddy. I enjoy reading, baking, watching Turner Classic Movies, listening to Watercolors on Sirius XM, and going on the Smooth Jazz Cruise.
NOMINEE: Liz Goates
I have lived in Morrilton, Arkansas for 18 years. My husband and I moved here from California in 2002, to help care for my mother-in-law. I spent almost 25 years in the law enforcement side of the justice system. Currently I am an Official Court Reporter for Honorable Jerry Don Ramey, 15th Judicial Circuit, Criminal Division, since 2017. Love it! Prior to that, I spent 3 years as a freelancer, loved it. I have signed up to be a mentor, and truly love talking to anyone about court reporting. I have mentored two court reporters, Celeste Holloway, and Kerry Crowell (both are freelancers).I love volunteering at my church, teaching Sunday school to 2nd/3rd graders and at our Wednesday night outreach program to 2nd/3rd graders. In my free time, my husband and I love touring around in our motorhome with our two dogs, Abby and Sissy.
